Largely, the single and multi-story buildings TBA serves, have for several decades, housed elders, families, and people with special needs. Upon thorough examination in the investigative phase for existing conditions, we identify various interior, envelope and building systems’ deficiencies within the facilities, requiring the need for replacement of well-used and long-exposed materials such as doors, windows, roofs and siding and kitchens, baths, laundry areas and floor and wall finishes.

The renovations to the Nemasket Elderly Housing Development are an example of TBA Architects' ongoing work with the Middleborough Housing Authority.  At this site we have completed extensive interior and exterior renovations to maintain and upgrade the quality of life for the residents. Exterior improvements range from roofing, siding, and windows. Interior work has included accessibility improvements to bathrooms and kitchens as well as laundry and community space renovations.

In 2023, TBA facilitated the completion of a substantial addition and renovation to the community building that is located central to the housing development. The addition and renovation were requested to expand the uses and capabilities of the original building to include a larger gathering space with an open layout, space for exercise, and creative space for art classes & making.
