TBA Architects provided complete architectural services to the renovation and restoration of this historic structure, owned by the Museum of the City of Newton, Masachusetts.
Interior work included creation of a public meeting space (complete with multimedia capability for use for TV broadcast) and renovation of traditional residential spaces into those more fitting a contemporary museum, while the exterior restoration and reconstruction of the building grounds were also completed.
Work included research of original materials and finishes, and site modifications to solve water penetration of lower level galleries. Work was funded by the City and State and complied with the Secretary's Standards for Historic Preservation.
